Personal Goals

Personal Learning Goals

At Belvedere Infant School, we study the International Primary Curriculum to give our children a topic themed approach to their learning and help them learn more about the wider world they live in.  The personal goals refer to those individual qualities and dispositions we believe children will find essential in the 21st century.  They help to develop those qualities that will enable children to be at ease with the continually changing context of their lives. There are personal goals for enquiry, resilience, principles, communication, thoughtfulness, cooperation, respect and adaptability.

The eight Personal Learning Goals are embedded within the whole of school life and children are encouraged to use the Personal Goals at home too! Opportunities to experience and practice these are built into the learning tasks within each unit of work, and during the tasks, teachers refer to the Personal Goals that are being taught and ways to develop them. These goals are displayed in every classroom.
