Modern Foreign Language
As our population is so diverse and many of the children have English as a second language, Spanish gives the children opportunity to start on a level playing field. MFL allows the children to feel confident about learning new languages alongside native English speakers. Within the activities adaptation is provided so that all children can access the lesson.
MFL can support pupils with reading and writing needs, as the programme is differentiated so that all slides include pictorial and audio scaffolding alongside adapted worksheets and activities to suit the need of each individual pupil.
MFL gives the children opportunity to learn about the wider world and respect the culture and customs of Spanish speaking countries.
